Klare Empfehlung. Posted on Tripadvisor Diana DVerified Authentic, well-priced, intimate cruise through Cambodia Had a wonderful time on the Neang Neakii Cruise! I booked directly with the boat company / owners and they were very responsive and easy to work with. Only thing to note is if you contact them directly they do not take credit card, only bank transfer. The cruise itself is intimate, authentic, comfortable, and really great value. My husband and I took the 4-day/3-night from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap. The price of other cruises were $1600+ per person but this one was a fraction of that cost. It incudes all your meals, soft drinks, excursions, transfers. The actual accommodations are really comfortable. Bed is a full size / double - so it might be small for some couples, but for us it was good. Shower had great pressure. Everything was extremely clean and well-kept. Every meal was made-to-order (nothing pre-prepared) and delicious. The staff, especially our English-speaking guide, Samphors, was one of the kindest human beings ever! He knows so much about Cambodian culture and history, and was attentive, patient, and loved to share his knowledge. The excursions, I thought, were very authentic. We got to see different kinds of Cambodian crafts (silk making, palm sugar making, pottery, metalwork) and saw some stunning countryside scenery that is difficult to access. It’s not a “luxury” cruise like the other brands (Pandaw, Viking, etc) but it’s a very well-priced, authentic, family-owned, all-inclusive cruise that gives you a very intimate look at the Cambodian countryside. Highly recommend!Posted on Tripadvisor kimfardell3Verified Fabulous cruise from Siem Reap to phnom penh If you're going to cruise from Siem Reap to phnom penh then choose this company fabulous from start to finish with plenty of stops on the way, all the staff can't do enough for you the food is amazing and it's a brilliant way to spend 4 days, relaxed, unhurried we'd do it again in a heartbeat. The rooms are comfy and clean with plenty of hot water. Sam our guide was very knowledgeable, very friendly and great fun to be with - we can't recommend this company highly enough well done - kim & Heather 👍😁Posted on Tripadvisor Jonathan KVerified 2/3 days lovely Beautiful boat, beautiful ride, delicious food, gracious staff and our guide, Sam, was a terrific companion. With only eight cabins (not all of which were being offered when we went), the journey has a peaceful and intimate feel. Pro tip: be sure you understand the itinerary for the last day (Phnom Penh to Siem Reap). During high (dry) season, the water in the lake is too low to navigate, so the entire final day is by van (about four hours of driving). The first hour is on bumpy, unpaved roads and is a bit brutal. Our van was fine, but for the money we paid I think a more comfortable vehicle could have been provided. The final three hours of the drive are more comfortable, but the only really enjoyable part of the day (and it was great!) came at the end when we visited Kampong Phluk floating village. I was aware of the itinerary for the last day, but one of our travel companions, who booked through another company, did not, and it came as an unpleasant surprise. Because of the last day I would say the tour may be a bit overpriced, but the first two days were so wonderful I'm very glad it did it.Posted on Tripadvisor Karen DVerified Fabulous experience. Highly recommend. These 3 days on the Tonle Sap river were one of the absolute highlights of our trip. We were amazed to find that we were the only 4 people on the boat, being looked after by a delightful and skilled crew of 6! It is such a shame that this trip is not better marketed, as we feel it deserves to be a top seller for visits to Cambodia. The boat is charming and full of character. The cabins were comfortable and the showers good - lots of hot water. The food was out of this world - way better than the Michelin * place we tried in Siem Reap. It was tasty, plentiful and authentic - delicious. Sam, our guide, was a delight - he did everything possible to enhance our trip and he had good connections with the local people, so we enjoyed several lovely encounters with locals, with him translating for us. We loved the ox cart ride, and the palm sugar guy especially. Plus the old city at Oudong, on top of the hill, was so atmospheric. But it was the insight into 'real Cambodia' that we most appreciated. Thank you to Sam and the wonderful crew for a great 3 days. A really special memory. Our only regret is that we wish we'd had longer on this boat trip; we tried to hijack them and go up to Laos, but sadly they couldn't do it!Posted on Tripadvisor Adrian BVerified Mekong Dawn authentic Cambodian experience My Wife and I had the most amazing time on this 3 day/2 night trip. We were very surprised to discover that we would be the only guests on this leg from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap. Great for us, but it was a mystery that the journey was under-subscribed, it's a true gem and deserves many more guests. The boat is not one of those boring tupperware boats we have seen traversing the Mekong before. It really has a character and enhances the experience. Cabin was tidy and bed linen crisp. The mattress is a little firm but, with good air-con, we slept soundly every night. The shower was a pleasant surprise. Good water pressure and perfectly hot - better than some hotels we have stayed in. The staff? What can I say that doesn't sound like gushing, so apologies in advance. Sam, the main guide, spoke good English and incredibly knowledgeable. He explained so much detail on every trip with such enthusiasm. The main thing that struck me was Sam's interactions with the locals. He was so kind and thoughtful it made us feel that we were being well represented. We went for an ox-cart trip on a very hot day and Sam made sure that the lady cart owner had some water. A true gentleman. Overall, the off-boat excursions were excellent and it gave us a real insight into Cambodian life and culture. Food was tasty and generous and a good representation of Cambodian cuisine. One of the desserts was a little strange to my Western tastes, but we had one with tapioca and coconut milk that took us back to our childhood :-) Our Chef, Mrs. Sreymum was the unsung hero of our trip. The other crew members, Mr. Teang, the Captain and Mr. Bros all helped to make this so very special. If you like the idea of seeing a more authentic, grass-roots version of Cambodia but without too many concessions to comfort then this trip would suit you as well as it suited me and my Wife. Quite an emotional experience. Any negatives? Well the website is in dire need of an update. Luckily, my lovely Wife was tenacious enough to track this trip down. The boat could be fully booked with some better marketing :-)Posted on Tripadvisor Graham OVerified A marvellous travel experience My wife and I have just completed a wonderful 3 night cruise on the Mekong Dawn from Phnom Penh up river and completing the final leg of the journey by car taking us to our hotel in Siem Reap. It might be a slower journey time than flying, but the experience was immeasurably better. The crew made it special, headed up by Sam who took us out on daily excursions on shore and looked after our comfort on board the boat. Every meal time provided new tastes from wonderfully cooked Cambodian food. For the first 2 days we were the only passengers and then we were joined later by a few other guests, but it still felt like our very own bespoke luxury journey.Posted on Tripadvisor Maisie LVerified Good cruise Me and my husband just got back from 2 night 3 days cruise we was with another couple it was amazing the food was good all the staff are really good but Sam was amazing with the tour s we did we would recommend the cruisePosted on Tripadvisor cajetaVerified Loved our 3 day/2 night cruise! Lovely boat and crew that totally exceeded our expectations! The boat is now 6 cabins of which 3 were taken by our group of friends and 2 more by other travelers. We found the cabins charming with ensuite bathrooms and excellent AC. Upstairs, we appreciated the 2 large outdoors decks and the bar/dining room with 360 degree views. Sam was a great guide to the small craft villages and historic temples along the boat's route between Phnom Penh and Lake Tonle Sap. Food was amazing and we were treated to a fun cooking class by Sopheap. We took advantage of the chilled wine and gin/tonics every evening! An unexpected change in our dropoff due to the floods at the end of this wet season and road construction resulted in a small boat ride for a long time but gave us an amazing view of a large floating village and the preparations for the upcoming boat races.
